poor, poor husband.

Sunday and Monday have been a real emotional drain for Husband, who is currently in Pittsburgh, trying to find us a place to hang up our hats.  Sunday he drove the neighborhoods of the houses we liked most, to check for busy streets, giant barking dogs, and all those little kinds of things that might drive us a little bonkers {no offense to dog-lovers...I like them too}.  Then today, he met with our realtor and had a chance to explore inside what must have seemed like a zillion homes.  He visited the cookie-cutter houses that were nice n' new, the houses that were super charming on the outside - but layered in 3 inches of ceiling plaster on the inside {wth?}, and houses that were absolutely perfect - yet not in our numero uno township pick.  I can't wait until he gets home and we can sit down and chat about what he saw.  Currently, his memories of each house are jumbled together in his brain and choosing from the bunch seems like a not-fun task.

Selecting a house is not an easy decision, especially not knowing the area.  But I am opting to look at this just as I have this whole moving process...as an adventure.  This doesn't have to be that hard.  Honestly, we just pick a house and live in it.  Right?  RIGHT?

Oh my goodness.  Now my head is spinning.

  1. Welcome to Pittsburgh! I've been reading your blog since we are located in a suburb of Pittsburgh, South Fayette. I see that's one of your options. We couldn't be happier with the area and the school district. (My daughter is in 4th grade this year.) All this to say that if you end up here, I think you'll love it! Karen

    1. Thank you! Yes, we have been looking in South Fayette and Upper Saint Clair! Small, little world that you found me! :)
I am so happy to hear that you love the schools. We have been very impressed with what we hear so far and are excited to get over there this summer and get settled!

  2. Touring many houses is confusing. Have Thomas make several checklists with your definitely want, would love and what you don't want. Then all he has to do is check off the different priorities on the check list and he won't have to try to memorize each house!
