part two of what i started to tell you about yesterday.

Remember yesterday how I was telling you about how we went downtown to watch fireworks at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Regatta? Well, here are the rest of the photos. We thought we were going to have real trouble finding parking, so we gave ourselves paaa-lenty of time {like three hours} to walk the park, see the sights and not miss the firework show. Parking was super simple though and the festival wasn't super crowded or giant and we happily found ourselves with time to roam the park and the coolest one-fraction of the downtown area - PPG Place. This place, hidden in the jungle of skyscrapers, is full of outdoor dining at quaint restaurants, cobblestone streets, and arbored benches for quiet conversation. It's beautiful.

And it's Pittsburgh, people!
Isn't Pittsburgh supposed to be Steel City and all industrial and stuff?
I'm telling you, it's not at all.
It's gorgeous.  And those yellow bridges?  They'll amaze you every time.

The next four photos will just not do justice to the dramatic firework feat of which we witnessed. Imagine a waterfall of flowing glitter cascading from the roof of a towering hotel.  Did I make that sound amazing?  Well, it was.  It wins for the category of coolest anything I have ever seen done with a pyrotechnic device.  *applause

I wish you a very happy Fourth of July!
We are watching the local fireworks tonight, right here in our township.
And of course, we have our own sparklers.
And strawberry shortcake.
And a beef brisket.
Three of my most 'merican things.
