african wildlife safari > port clinton, oh.

If you're going to buy a new (or gently used) car, might I suggest driving it through a wildlife safari to really test it out against nature's elements.  Buffalo saliva up and down the windows, giraffe drool through the open sunroof, and alpaca tongue lapping up dead bugs on the painted hood...just a few things your new vehicle will encounter.  Oh and the dust.  Plenty of dust.
Port Clinton's African Wildlife Safari is worth the extra trip through the carwash, though.  The animals provided plenty of entertainment, so we were laughing the whole drive.  When a gigantic buffalo rears it's head inside the passenger window, hoping to snag a carrot, it's plenty entertaining.  And those alpacas.  They know about the just-right place to stand in front of a car, to keep traffic at a standstill.  And they seem to enjoy walking up and poking their heads into driver windows just to stare...not eat...just stare...for an eternity.  No hurry, just wanted to say hi.  Feeding the giraffe through the sunroof was probably the highlight for me.  I can go ahead and check that off my bucket list.  There were giggles, there were plenty of ew grosses, and lots of wows.

When we decided to meet up in Ohio for a summer vacation, we had no idea what to expect.  We knew about Cedar Point amusement park and we'll get there in a day or two, but other than that, we had no idea what we'd be doing to fill our time.  Well, shucks, though.  We have found more than a thing or two to do in this Lake Erie town.  And when we aren't out moving and shaking, we are all quite content to lounge out on the large front porch of our rental house with our electronic devices.  What would we do without the internets?  And naps.  Naps are good.
